3 Reasons why you should watch Quantico

Astute critics will immediately shun Quantico down marking it as a version of the famous TV Show GLEE  except that the quite flawed plot with some loopholes unfurls in the setting of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the FBI. If I were you, I wouldn't take those accusations seriously.  The plot may seem forced and the characters may feel like the result of a college campus focus group but it's a show not a TV reality program- so you can't expect better. T he show is technically well made. The photography for the most part is well done, the sound is good, etc. The women are beautiful to look. Mystery, suspense, thrill and a string of complex psychologically-trapped characters, Quantico serves great brain churning content and a passionately intriguing hunt for the truth that is painted in a twist-crafted chronology. Personally, there are 3 essential reasons I kept watching Quantico. 1. Priyanka Chopra - Alex Parrish Priyanka Chopra is one of t...

Moonlight

Less her, is no definite, She twinkles through the sweet moonlight. Let her name crown mine till our infinite, She is loved, in the bristling day and the charming night. Mount our dwelling in her serenading trails, She, the beauteous abodes in our scintillating orbs. Mantled are thoughts of her under the enchanting midnight feathers, She quagmires us within her soft breezes. Our being, our pursuit and rosy evenings, She seers the thirst of our pink pulp-ings. Our hope, our sky-high dreams, our universe of desires, She breeds the ecstatic utopia of memoirs. Let her name crown mine till our infinite, She is loved, in th...

Bleeding Celebrations

This morning, I overheard my aunt and our house maid having their daily morning chat. I had just woken up and had tooth paste froth in my mouth as my aunt eventually called me and pronounced in a high pitch voice how some neighbors had invited over 100 people during the weekend to celebrate their daughter's coming of age. In the kitchen, both women sounded quite surprised by this occurrence and although they didn't drag the talk too much, one of them didn't stop herself from commenting: "Bizin fer tou dimune conner quand tifi inn vinn grande fille?" (Why do they have to let everyone know that their daughter is now a Big Girl?) I pulled my tooth brush from my mouth and tried to articulate: "Zot ban Tamils?" (They are Tamilians?) My aunt acquiesced. Celebrating a woman's first menstruation is followed in several cultures. And it definitely not unique to South India, from where the ancestors of the Tamil people of Mauritius come ...

First Live Video

This time, it has really been a while since I last posted. Mostly, I have been busy doing so many things since the past 3 months. From finishing some introduction to Accounting and Economics classes to taking up a new Business Lending Risk and Credit Risk, I have come quite a way in trying to improve my knowledge in this sphere. I have been an ardent social sciences fan who took up the natural sciences and is headed towards the finances, so some preparation into that world was definitely needed. Of course, several other emotional roller coasters squished in but all of that do not matter anymore. I'm excited about what's lying ahead. I am even more excite to tell you all about it. For now, I'll leave you with this Webcam Video I filmed a few months earlier.  Hopefully, there'll be more coming up. For now, Be great, Live young.

Revisiting a temple

I went to a temple after a very long time twice this week. There happens to be this Kovil just a minute away from my house and I never set foot there until tonight. So, I was quietly standing outside the temple in my jeans and cardigan, observing the architecture and wall paintings when I caught the glimpse of a lady's face. I smiled at her and she smiled back. Eventually she came up to me and asked: "To ress ici mem?" Now, I do not socialise out with the locality's people at all. And my existence is simply not something anyone is aware of. This much I knew. But I got it's confirmation tonight. I laughed slightly and affirmed. She would probably have been much more contented with me coming from some alien planet; after all, all the young damsels there were neatly dressed in their traditional attires, flowers decking their nicely braided hair and with bhotus on their forehead. And then there was me, wearing my savate lacaz and looking terrifica...

11 Perks to the Big Sister- Little Brother Equation

At the beginning of your happy, jolly journey on Earth as a little h-oo-man, it’s just you. You get all your parents’ attention, sharing and another little h-oo-man that would snuggle himself in your seat at the dining table remain two alien concepts. Then, before you know it, you’re a big sister to a baby brother. You swell with the importance of your new responsibility – until you realise that it’s a life-long commitment. My brother and I are six and half years apart in age. Naturally, there were those few years that involved constant fighting and him blaming everything on me and somehow never getting in trouble while I took all the heat. But what are the Perks of being a Big Sister to a Little Brother?  1. You get to dress him up in female clothing For the first couple of years, before he is impregnated with any preconceived societal ideas of gender identity, you get to have him wear your Mom's bras and have him apply bright red lipstick. Heck, now that I...

What is it that scares me about new beginnings?

The following is a Guest Post and may not be in line with the philosophy of Our Alter Ego. I just wanted to give people the opportunity I always thirsted for but never got, which is a platform for expression. I hope you appreciate the endeavours.  Be Light,  Much Love, Iam Aehr. .  .  . I am feeling quite nostalgic lately. At first, I was looking for the reason I was being so moody one minute, then happy and without a care in the world the next one. I am nearly nineteen and a half years old. By now, I should have become a tough, independent woman, as most of you might have expected. Heck, even I had expected myself to grow up much more quickly emotionally speaking. Thing is, I tend to take things much more to heart than many other people. While what someone might say to you something good or something bad might evaporate from your memory as quickly as it entered it, I feel like I am a whole lot different...
