Mirror, Mirror, who's the handsomest of them all?...

There was a time where girls used to groom themselves up. They had to ensure that their beauty and allure would drive Princes and their Courts to distraction. They had be happy to star-struck any boy that had come within their orbit with their magnificent faces, regal dignities, warmth and goodness they had exude...Today it seems to me that boys are also as much keen as girls- at times more than necessarily keen to take care of their appearances. Queen Elizabeth College has changed my life…

Queen Elizabeth College has indeed changed my life. As a newbie to high school life, Form one seemed normal. The transition of being the seniors of Primary School and then –BANG- THE Juniors of Secondary school obviously scratched all of us on the back-but it could soothingly be digested; after all we had been admitted into the most coveted all-girls star college! Mauritians could be very well known for its bad manners were we compared to other countries. A mere “Good-Morning” & “Thank You” seems to cost people a lot! The first very thing that I recollect being taught at Qec to do: "Say ’good-morning’ to whoever crosses your way”. Indeed I believe it lightens many persons’ day. From the sort of timid girl I used to be, today I startle myself when I find myself engrossed in a conversation with people 4 times my age!
