6 weeks, 24 Fun Activities | #SingaporeSignatures

1. Mustafa Centre in Little India One of the fondest memories I took back to Mauritius after my visit to Singapore in 2011 was that of Mustafa Centre : one of Singapore's 24-hour shopping malls on Syed Alwi Road in Little India. I like to call it Singapore's Wal-mart. (#JustMacroeconomicsThings) Mostly because it catered for and still c aters for the budget market. Jewellery   and   household appliances , books,   DVDs,   watches,   electronic goods,   footwear   and   clothing. You want anything for cheap? Head to Mustafa Centre. It sells more than 300,000 items! There are several Indian restaurants in its vicinity and I still saw great food spots like Shakuntala’s and Meenakshi’s from 5 years ago. The only thing, the scenery is no longer as charming as it used to be. Immigration does change a lot of things about a country. 2.    Marina Bay Sands Water and Lights Show During my 2011 trip with my entire family: my parents, my little brother and my cousi

Making Friends while Studying Abroad | #SingaporeSignatures

“Okay, guys! This is going to be a super long message. I'm sorry for disturbing you but I feel I need to share whatever is happening to me. I'm just not okay guys! I'm not. Honestly! I know I'm lucky to be where I am and that too in such a prestigious school (they keep saying this every day) but I'm honestly I'm not happy- I am far from being happy. “I think I was super exhausted as I got here. I traveled alone and was simply tired throughout. We had a shuttle with the other international students traveling to college from the airport. Everybody was talking to everybody except me. I just didn't have the energy to initiate a talk. 😭😭😭😭                         “So I just sat and slept in the shuttle. Our shuttle broke down just 20 minutes before reaching campus and everybody got out except me. I was sleeping 😭😭😭 “I felt like crying. The buildings were so different. 😭 T he campus is super nice but right now I just can'

Changi Airport and Arrival | #SingaporeSignatures

*The following was drafted on the 20th of September 2016. Also. I do realise this should have came much earlier. To my Dad: yes, I'm just going to send the link to the blog posts the next time people want to hear from me. :3 (Dear readers, it's just between my Dad and his daughter, don't worry much about that. :3)* It's been 3 weeks already, more like 25 days to be precise. Well, yes. That's 4 days more than 3 weeks. And I'm sorry I took so long to post something in here.  Be rest assured, especially those who read the blog for the "Humanity's Team" label, I might just have wondrous content for you too other than my daily experiences of Singapore! This one's for the students hoping to get to Singapore for the further studies, be it your undergrad or postgrad. I'll start from the very beginning: the airport.  Now, don't get me wrong. I have been to Singapore before and that was in 2010 if I remember well.  The Arrival

Last day at home | #SingaporeSignatures

I remember having a two hours nap next to my mother on the afternoon I was to leave my native land for Singapore to pursue my further studies. The previous night my friends were heavily startled as to how I had nothing to do 24 hours before I was to say my goodbyes to Mauritius. I replied that packing was done and that all I have to do are taking some rest, having some good food, looking great, feeling divine, making sure of some security details, and intentionally setting up a fight with my little brother just for the sake of nagging him. I was neutral about my departure; I could have been excited or sad- however, I remained passive as I closed my eyes to sleep. My morning routine was just like any other day. I woke up, reflected on life and talked to my imaginary friends about how my maternal grandfather has constantly been reminding me of the positively high spirits in which my younger cousin had earlier left for Australia and how he wants me not to look back and simply fo
