Being single has never been proved as being inadequate. According to a 2010 Pew research report, about 46% people opted for singlism. Many single people are the targets of so many stereotypes and discriminations. What for guys and why?
What if society regarded single life as just as valid as any other life? Then how many people would opt to be single. We are most likely to ponder that the 21st-century citizens are “oh- so sophisticated” but in fact there are social costs to something as innocuous as saying that you are happy, if you are single and that you declare to be single.
The fact that singles are stigmatized, stereotyped and ignored gets me furious and brings into me utter disgust. Those skeptics must come to the realization that those singles are equally humans too, so they came armed with their emotions.
The only advice that I have for all the singles is “no matter how many deliberate, negative judgments’ to which you get subjected, please stand your ground. Do stay firm on your decision.” I firmly believe that out there, there are people who do not only choose to be single but definitely evaluate it with enthusiasm. I am one of them.
Long live singlism!
