A crowd, strident timbre of the voice, cacophony of applause and cheering, whooping, hollering, clapping, stamping of feet, palpable excitement buzzed through the charged air, infectious grins, friends shaking hands, getting hugs, patting one another on the back, spontaneous outpouring of emotion.
Today was a great day. ^^
Like any other school year, we had our School Outing today. When I wind back the hands of the clock, I remember how School Outings used to be about so many other things that didn't mattered a heck this time.
Things like who you are going to sit with in the bus, what clothes you were going to wear or whom you are going to share your food with! :D
This time it was about sheer giving it away to spontaneous moments coupled with some cheesy songs that are traditionally snag cheerily in the bus and topped with the new age phenomenon: selfies! xD
Everyone was so jubilant, singing the songs that belonged to the inebriated and joyful. We rubbed shoulders never minding that their toes were often trodden on or that they were in closer proximity to these 'strangers' than they usually were to friends or even family. The atmosphere was one of elation, the warm summer air occasionally punctuated by whoops and hollers.
The girls crowd into the expanse of grass, thin angular limbs jutting in all directions, like a brilliant island of colorful shorts and t-shirts in a sea of green, white and blue. The beach is more people than sand. They lie and sit on towels and quilts. It is a crazy array of colour, every shade the mall has to offer, all right there with no thought to coordination. It's like they got vomited there. You can smell their suntan lotion and hear their conversation. xD
The day was warm; it was the perfect weather to go to the beach. The water was clear and varying from a clear crystal water to turquoise and then rich deep blue in colour. A few patches of sea weed were in sight. There was no chance the fine white sand would burn our feet, we were constantly on the move: we ran, both as victims and preys of water balloons and water guns!
Brave water gamers pick their way down to the shallow water on tiptoes, wincing, grimacing, comical caricatures as they tried to dodge the water attacks or get a surprise sea dive.
Do I have more to say? Yes. My feelings, emotions and the warmth I felt today. But that's probably something you don't want to hear right now. :D
Until next time,
Much Love,
Iam Aehr! xD
