Interviews! Compilations! :)

Collecting these has been intricately gorgeous! I must say, I was dazzled by the answers of all of MY respondents! The purpose of this was to actually understand what goes on in people's mind when they read the questions I sent them. For those who did reply back- thank you for being part of this! <3 I'm culminating different approaches from different people. Basically, there's a set of 14 questions I streamed out from several places across the net. The general response I got was that "I look forward to replying to them! :*" ,"I'm working on it and the questions are so so interesting <3" amongst others. Some inboxed telling that they were having a tough time expressing themselves with the questions- but I believe deep down, these questions attempt to urge you define Who You Are and somehow tickles you to project an Image that you deem as appropriate!

It's been a wonderful two day experience to message people and ask them if they were interested in being part of this! Eventually, unveiled is going to be a diversity of answers to the same questions, an opportunity to peak into the difference of personalities that we all exude- as well as (I was definitely struck by this one! :O) THE SIMILARITIES that we hold as teenagers of this generation!

Thank you for taking out time to respond to these! I really hope that you enjoyed the process as much as I did! Love, God Bless! <3

You can always share this with your friends and give it a thumbs up if you want to have such more exchanges or want to be part of this!

1.  If you could visit any country in the world, where would you go?
Japan. I very much admire how discipline these people are as compared to us, Mauritians. Japan’s culture is very beautiful and so are their games and manga. It seems fun living there!

2.  Who are some people you’d like to meet someday?
Um actually, I don’t want to come across any human being in my life. I        don’t really know how to approach these dainty little things…or ugly?

3.  If someone asked you to give them a random piece of advice, what would you say?
Learn to observe. A situation should be viewed and analyzed from different perspectives before being judged. Please. Don’t be bias.

4.  What’s one of your favorite habits you have?
Listening to music: mainly metal.

5.  What are some things that make you really happy?
(i)When I am alone, outside amongst fauna and flora, with a light breeze flowing through my hair. It is the only moment when I strongly feel a sense of freedom and serenity.
(ii)When my close friends are happy.

6.  What’s your favorite part about today so far?
Answering these questions!

7.  Who in your life has influenced you the most? How did they do it?
I met a guy this year and he greatly helped me get out of depression. Right now, today, I am a person who is mentally very strong and can waltz through major difficulties that I had then. And no, he’s not my boyfriend.

I don’t have any.

Their body language; the way they respond to the situation.

12.   Do you think people can control their own destiny?
 Yes, of course.

13.    Do you think morals are universal or relative to the beliefs, traditions, and practices of individuals or groups?
They are relative. Everyone has his own set of beliefs. If morals were universal, then there would have been 7 billion of sheep today.

14.   How do you feel right now? What are you thinking about?
Right now, my head is devoid of thoughts. It is so peaceful right now. I rarely experience ‘nothingness’. It feels good.

  1. If you could visit any country in the world, where would you go?

Netherlands which symbolizes freedom to me.

  2. Who are some people you’d like to meet someday?

Oprah Winfrey who needs no introduction, Superwoman, youtuber & Zoya Akhtar, famous for the direction of Hindi movie Zindagi Naa Milegi Dobara! They’re both so free-spirited!

  3. If someone asked you to give them a random piece of advice, what would you say?

There are no such things as right or wrong. It’s a matter of perspective. Do whatever makes you happy and be strong enough to bear the consequences.

  4. What’s one of your favourite habits you have?

I chew around a dozen ice cubes a day and I love it!

  5. What are some things that make you really happy?

Debating. I like to figure out my opinions on all things in life, including whether I should have an opinion on everything.

Singing. There is a song for whatever I’m feeling. Singing never fails to make me feel better.

Window shopping. I may not be buying anything at all!

Talking! Every person has an interesting story to tell and I like to dare unveiling them.

  6. What’s your favorite part about today so far?
The Youtube Soca dance workout that I just did with my mother before sipping chilled homemade fruit smoothies!
  1. Who in your life has influenced you the most? How did they do it?

My best friend, Danraj who taught me that happiness is reason enough to go ahead with anything.

  2. What’s your favourite joke?
Basically everything that’s said in ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’, especially Kapil’s sarcastic remarks & Palak’s poems!
  1. How do you feel about public speaking?

I went to a ZEP primary school where I was always 1st and got the teachers’ attention and appreciation. Attending QEC was like a shock; I no longer felt special...until I realized I could speak to audiences brilliantly. I remember failing twice in a national elocution contest and winning the 3rd year. Public speaking not only taught me perseverance but also that victory is overrated; progress is the real deal.

  2. Would you rather be hated or forgotten?
One may hate me or be indifferent to me. As long as they know the real me, either is okay!
  1. What’s the first thing you notice about people? The eyes, which are windows to the soul.

  2. Do you think people can control their own destiny?
To me, God is in the same category as unicorns, werewolves and vampires. Its existence has neither been proved nor disproved. You come in the world with a set of circumstances but the rest is up to you and no one else.
  1. Do you think morals are universal or relative to the beliefs, traditions, and practices of individuals or groups?Definitely the latter!

  2. How do you feel right now? What are you thinking about?
I’m leaving the country next month for studies at Brandeis University in the US. Being far from my bestie is to me a bigger challenge than adapting to this new culture.
I need to be more organized to fulfil all items on my bucket list. I don’t have space for a single regret in my heart.

  1. If you could visit any country in the world, where would you go?
It depends. On a working mood, it would be London and its fast paced life. (aka England) If I had to chill, probably Spain, Turkey, Australia. If I wanted shopping, then Singapore and the East J But if it all went down to one country, It would be USA. Never been there. Sounds fun. And definitely my choice if it went down to curiosity.
  1. Who are some people you’d like to meet someday?
That’s a nice question. I’ll start with something cheesy; I’d like to meet you. Then maybe it seems common but stars, football players and world leaders are my pick. Cristiano Ronaldo, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif <3, Emma Watson and Barack Obama surely. Plus I wouldn’t mind a chat with Vladimir Putin too. Plus since I get to write a long list, I’d add John Sloman. He wrote my eco book. I wonder how he managed to get everything so clear in his head.
  1. If someone asked you to give them a random piece of advice, what would you say?
Again, that would depend on the person but a general advice would be to never give up, however tough the road may seem anywhere, don’t ever ever give up. Times will get tough and no matter how strong you think you are, life will beat you down to your knees. So when things get tough, rest if you must but never quit. Even when life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show it you have a 1000 to smile.
  1. What’s one of your favorite habits you have?
Habits. All I can think of right now are bad habits. But if I had to pick one for the sake of the survey, It would be getting up late. No matter how tough the day’s gonna be or how bulky it’s gonna be, I never rise earlier than I should and that’s a habit I love.
  1. What are some things that make you really happy?
Throughout the last few years, I’ve learnt to find joy in all the little things life has to offer. We only live once, don’t we? So things like achieving something my parents are proud of, doing something which corresponds to my principles, making someone sad smile, family moments, epic friend moments and being alongside people who mean a lot to me are definitely my lucky formulae to happiness. And little things like doing a Maths number correctly, winning a FIFA match, watching the bright sun in the morning contribute in their own small ways into making me really happy.

  1. What’s your favorite part about today so far?
Umm. This would be running from tuition to the cinema to meet my dad. I left tuition early and had to run to Novelty when I was already late. It was kinda fun. First-hand experience.
  1. Who in your life has influenced you the most? How did they do it?
Three very important people influenced my life, or 4 maybe.
Dad first, the perfect guide, the advisor, the one who sets the road and we just have to follow.
Then mom, who made me a lot of who I am character wise. Rebellious and all.
My brother who is always there for me with the right advise about just anything.
My sister, inspiring me to be courteous.
  1. What’s your favorite joke?
‘Vous connaissez la blague du papier? Ca dechire.’
  1. How do you feel about public speaking?
Nice question. Earlier I used to be scared, nervous. But the first time I went on stage, I was in front on 150 people. 300 eyes on you. I had to talk for 5 minutes and had written content of only 2 minutes. Then I grew so much in the 3 remaining minutes and I talked just like that. It boosted my confidence a lot. Since then, the fear factor’s gone, making me a rather confident person. Comes only with experience, my ultimate advice.
  1. Would you rather be hated or forgotten?
It depends on the person. If it’s a person that I don’t somehow like for all the bad reasons that may be, then I’ll make sure that person hates me as much as I do, if not more and that he/she never forgets me. But if it’s someone nice and things genuinely went wrong with no solution, then I’d rather be forgotten. I wouldn’t want to reside as someone hateful.
  1. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
I’m gonna be short and frank: face, eyes, body. Then comes character and all that follows.
  1. Do you think people can control their own destiny?
To some extent, yes. I hate someone saying I’m not destined to that or that doesn’t work when someone doesn’t try. We can change our destiny. We just need to fight enough for it. If you want something bad enough, you’ll get it. If you didn’t get it, you didn’t want it bad enough. However we shouldn’t always challenge destiny, hence explaining why to some extent only. What’s meant to happen will happen.

  1. Do you think morals are universal or relative to the beliefs, traditions, and practices of individuals or groups?
I believe that for a moral to actually have the effect we want, it shouldn’t be universal. Everyone will react differently to a given set of words and in order to actually pass on the message, we should speak in the language the person actually understands: being on the same line of thoughts. Different people need different advice.

  1. How do you feel right now? What are you thinking about?
I feel sleepy, to start with. Then somehow in a philosophe mood. I think I should go to sleep.
Or the actual thought is, Dear Miss, what would be going on on your mind when you read it all..

  1. If you could visit any country in the world, where would you go?
    The Russian Federation.
Russia is like this alien land to me that I would love to know more about. It looks like a dangerous place filled with mafia and flooded with bombings and catastrophes. I would like to go there as a sociologist collecting data about the mafia using the most exciting research method ever, participant observation. *o*

  1. Who are some people you’d like to meet someday?
    1) Myself. :P Seriously, how exciting will it be to meet yourself? :D
    2) People belonging to the underworld :/
    3) My mother’s maternal grandmother who apparently resembles me a lot.        (Maybe in heaven?)
    4) Barbie ;)
    5) You know how they say that there are 7 people in the world who look like you? I would like to meet all seven!

  1. If someone asked you to give them a random piece of advice, what would you say?
Never ever give up on your goals!

  1. What’s one of your favourite habits you have?
    fer lizier dou :p

  2. What are some things that make you really happy?
    1) Spending time in nature alone
    2) Travelling alone
    3) Dancing
    4) Walking alone on the busy streets of London like a free bird. This is when you realise that YOU have full control over your life and you can actually do what YOU want. (I know the word ‘alone’ is cropping up quite often. Though I’m not really an introvert, I love spending time alone! )
    5) Animals
    6) Talking to somebody :$

  3. What’s your favourite part about today so far?
The facebook chat I’ve just had with somebody. He actually turned off chat which means he was probably busy but was still talking to me (I hope) or probably had too many girls to talk to, so had to turn off chat (which I think is the most probable reason -_- )

  1. Who in your life has influenced you the most? How did they do it?
    1) My siblings. Hard work, determination, perseverance, commitment, ambition. These values were learnt from them.
    2) My first best friend. I will always remain indebted to her. She literally made up for what my parents and my siblings missed in the socialisation process. Hadn’t it been for her, I would have never been that which I am today. I owe her a BIG thank you.
    3) My best friends:
    i) the drama queen- She taught me that anything is possible in this world and to never give up.
    J
ii) the blogger-That one is slowly turning me into an opiniated lady. ;)
iii) the one who can kill you with her looks-Never ever bow down to anybody. That’s one of her principles I guess! :P
    4) Somebody. He always radiates so much positive energy. I am so thankful that he crossed my path.

  2. What’s your favorite joke?
I don’t really have a favourite joke. I prefer to use sarcasm and witty comments and be naturally funny!

  1. How do you feel about public speaking?

When I first got started into public speaking, I never knew how hard and scary it would prove to be. Perhaps I was overconfident and I did not prepare as much as I should have but my first public speaking experience was horrible. But with time and practice, I gradually began overcoming the fear and the last time I held a mike in my hand, I was actually enjoying all the attention!

  1. Would you rather be hated or forgotten?
That’s a hard question. Because I was the sort of person who always tried to be on good terms with everybody. But then, of course, with time you realise that not everyone in this world is going to like you the way you are, no matter how hard you try. So, maybe it’s okay to be disliked. Getting back to the question, to be forgotten is surely scarier than death.  So, yeah, I would like to be hated rather than to be forgotten.
‘You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life.’ so said Winston Churchill.
The quote sums up everything. :)

  1. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
         Their facial expression!
  1. Do you think people can control their own destiny?

Perhaps not every aspect of it but at least to a large extent. We are responsible for our actions, right? We choose who we want to be. All the decisions we make eventually determine our destiny. But then so many life factors can be out of our control, for example the people we meet, the places we go, the situations we come across..

  2. Do you think morals are universal or relative to the beliefs, traditions, and practices of individuals or groups?

Hmm I never thought about that before. Okay, morals refer to the principles of right and wrong behaviour. Well, some moral values are (or should be) universal, for example, whatever our beliefs, traditions or practices, murder is morally wrong. On the other hand, some morals are relative. For instance, some people believe that killing animals is not morally right while others say that it’s just nature’s way, human beings form part of the food chain too.

  1. How do you feel right now? What are you thinking about?
Grateful for having done this little interview. It helped me in getting to know more about that which I am. Thank you, Rhea!
I can’t help thinking about what some people would have answered if they did the interview!
(Help yourself out ;) )

If a guy stares at you for a long time while smiling does he like you?

There's this guy at my work who I've been starting to get to know better, and I've noticed that every time he sees me he always gets this big smile on his face and he stares at me all the time. He has this look in his eyes that I can't really explain but it seems like he's fascinated or dreamy. Plus I'll be doing something and I'll look over at him and catch him looking right over at me, and he just smiles and I smile back. Today as he was leaving work I saw him from a distance but I didn't say anything because I wasn't going to shout across the parking lot, and he just developed this big smile while looking right at me, and I couldn't help but smile too. Then he came over and we talked a little before he left (he seemed nervous and he's kind of dorky, but I think it's cute) I don't know, I just feel like he stares at me just a little longer than any other person. I was wondering if this could mean he likes me? ...

Comparing the lifestyles of celebrities and ordinary people

Disney’s TV Show Hannah Montana depicts the female protagonist’s choice of leading an ordinary life despite being a celebrity. The show fluidly walks us through the distinct lifestyles of a celebrity and that of an ordinary person in terms of their set of values, ways of life, activities and attitudes. Whether celebrities and ordinary people are truly different would require a close diagnostic. The first thing that comes to mind when discussing celebrity and common man’s lifestyles is luxury . From the sports industry to the entertainment industry, from politicians to business tycoons, the mantra “if you’ve got it, flaunt it” seems to be painted all over the walls that frame celebrity life. Because of the power and extraordinary amount of wealth they have, celebrities live a life that the normal man can only dream of. For instance, with real-estate assets worth more than just a few million dollars across the world, celebrities have better vacation options than an ordi...

Because being honest and being frank are two poles apart!

*I have been meaning to write this since 3 weeks now.* I wonder why people take it for granted that they can do anything to you and say anything to you! Honestly, how can people be that honest?! I don't get it! Now, just so that I get over this- we had rather just start! , I think that each one of us has been frank at least once in our life!  Frankness broadcasts itself as a means for people to soothe their inability to contain their comments.  Because want it or not- Frankness in comparison to honesty is a bad thing. Basically because being frank hurts the object and makes the subject feel good, whilst honesty-well honesty is good for both! Being frank is a stupendo fantabulously fantastic thing for many of us. It's been for me. Mainly because it allowed me to believe that I existed and it made me feel good- it made me feel good because I could put my opinions forward. But to be honest, I don't it's been the best thing to do!  Frankn...
