Affinity for India and Social Topics

  • Iam
I woke up watching this heated debate on NDTV

    NIk
    This heated debate?

    Iam
Debate on whether India is a Republic of Bans
    .
    Into your thinking processes again?
Speak your mind and heart from time to time. I can be a good listener.

    NIk
I'm thinking about your passion for information about India. Most of the things that you are interested about are about India or revolve around India. :P

    Iam
I expose myself mostly to Indian channels; that's why. Back at home it's always NDTV 24x7. Not BBC exactly. France 24 is second. I think Indian media has great abilities in delivering quality debates.

    NIk
    Ohhh. I prefer BBC.

    Iam
NDTV doesn't joke around; they come, crude, fresh Astonishingly witty.
BBC is too pacific and fade in comparison. They are not engaging.

    NIk
Ohhhhhh. let me put it straight I hate the Indian accent. :3

    Iam
I feel that Mauritius is closer in its social evolution to India than to any other western society.
Sure Western-ism is becoming a tad accentuated among-st the youth
But fact is that we have an ageing population and that in only three years time 70% of Mauritians had be 60+.

    NIk
    hmmmmm

    Iam
For you to be able to understand the upcoming challenges that are going to grip our own Indian diaspora, it's important you are able to connect with the heart of the issues.
    See, Britain has its politics
    India has it too.
But while Britain's David Cameron is worried about you know equipping his populace with better amenities for handicaps; and they are actually debating the Socialist aspects of it, the Marxist aspects of it to win the electoral bank-

    NIk
    hmmmmm

    Iam
Societies like ours depend much sexism, religious differences to run the elections.

    NIk
    Aahaaan

    Iam
We are still having problems about core issues the westerners never really had to face.

    NIk
I prefer my world of stars and butterflies! :3

    Iam
Not in dimensions that we are having to deal with it. And definitively not in the philosophies that we are having to work with it. And all of this within systems and frameworks that are purely western in nature.
The real thing over here is that most of us are trying to fit our Orientalist attitude into the western system: democracy, freedom of speech etc.
And we never ever had any other 'big nation' facing the dilemma of Cultures clashing in that way
For all these reasons, as I strongly support Indian societal issues. Those are worthy enough to be followed.

    Iam
    I know you tuned out.
    How are your butterflies?
    And stars?

You can give me your thoughts okay? I don't have to prompt you.

    NIk
    I’m reading.

    Iam
I love people who say things. Just anything.

    NIk
    Aehr

    Iam
    Lol

    NIk
    You have a beautiful mind
    I’m not kidding.

    Iam
I don't know why I'm feeling that something very ironic is going to come from you by the time you finish reading.
Either you are going to laugh your ass off.
Or you are going to ask me to shut up.
Or you are going to tell me that I lose my time ranting about societal issues.

    NIk
    Noon my dear lady

    Iam
Or you are going to ask me to stop boring you. That's what everyone does in any case.

    NIk
You're the only person that I know who follows those issues. I freaking love when you say something about a topic that you like.

    Iam
I'm being able to tell this little only because of a few friends who at least are opinioned about some things..
The rest are just like plain: o.o
    It's frustrating.
    Really.

By the end of the day, I have no one to talk to.

If a guy stares at you for a long time while smiling does he like you?

There's this guy at my work who I've been starting to get to know better, and I've noticed that every time he sees me he always gets this big smile on his face and he stares at me all the time. He has this look in his eyes that I can't really explain but it seems like he's fascinated or dreamy. Plus I'll be doing something and I'll look over at him and catch him looking right over at me, and he just smiles and I smile back. Today as he was leaving work I saw him from a distance but I didn't say anything because I wasn't going to shout across the parking lot, and he just developed this big smile while looking right at me, and I couldn't help but smile too. Then he came over and we talked a little before he left (he seemed nervous and he's kind of dorky, but I think it's cute) I don't know, I just feel like he stares at me just a little longer than any other person. I was wondering if this could mean he likes me? ...

Comparing the lifestyles of celebrities and ordinary people

Disney’s TV Show Hannah Montana depicts the female protagonist’s choice of leading an ordinary life despite being a celebrity. The show fluidly walks us through the distinct lifestyles of a celebrity and that of an ordinary person in terms of their set of values, ways of life, activities and attitudes. Whether celebrities and ordinary people are truly different would require a close diagnostic. The first thing that comes to mind when discussing celebrity and common man’s lifestyles is luxury . From the sports industry to the entertainment industry, from politicians to business tycoons, the mantra “if you’ve got it, flaunt it” seems to be painted all over the walls that frame celebrity life. Because of the power and extraordinary amount of wealth they have, celebrities live a life that the normal man can only dream of. For instance, with real-estate assets worth more than just a few million dollars across the world, celebrities have better vacation options than an ordi...

Ours is a world of relative values.

Nothing is absolute; all is   relative,   since any thought or actions cannot be seen outside of the context in which they exist or happen. The good or bad we know or perceive is heightened by our experiences or senses, and that there is no way of arriving at a universal adage. What someone   think   is good may or may not be good to someone with different contexts or experiences. In fact, good and bad are relative. But now, this could lead to utter anarchy. There must be some things which are either entirely good or entirely bad. Unquestionably, irrevocably. For thousands of years, most people believed that telling the truth, not stealing, being faithful to your partner, being kind, keeping your word, forgiving people who’ve done you wrong, and not murdering were  absolute truths . If people disobeyed these truths, they knew their actions   were wrong . This is not the case with most Americans today. In the last 50 years, there’s be...
